The questions we are asked most often on the telephone – answered briefly and without detours.
Yes. When we buy from you, you identify yourself with an official identity document – that is required by law. Commercial suppliers additionally need their business registration and their tax number on official correspondence from the tax office (no more than 1 year old), or confirmation from their tax adviser that they are registered under the tax number given.
For everyday scrap metals such as aluminium, copper or cable we accept from 1 kg. For purchase by post the rule is: shipments with a goods value below €5.00 are not paid for, because the handling involved is out of all proportion.
Either immediately in cash or by bank transfer. For cash payment you confirm receipt with your signature on the credit note; for a transfer you give us your bank details.
Metal prices change every trading day. We buy at the best daily price – which is why the grades are described here but not given fixed figures. For electronic scrap we keep a price list that we update regularly; those prices are without obligation too. Give us a quick call and we will tell you the current daily price for your grade.
Goods offered to us are assessed by our staff. You can have your goods assessed before unloading or while they are being weighed in. As long as your material has not been mixed with other goods, you can still withdraw from the offer.
Adhering matter such as dirt or concrete residue is not a problem in small amounts. It is deducted from the quantity delivered as a percentage dirt deduction and charged at the applicable disposal rates. We do not accept material containing acids, oils, greases or radioactivity.
With the per-item purchase we sort on site and quote you a price per converter – quick and settled immediately. With processing, your goods are dismantled, milled, homogenised and analysed in the laboratory; what is paid for is the precious metal content actually measured. In our experience the per-item purchase is worthwhile for small quantities, processing for larger lots.
For larger quantities we are glad to put you in touch with our partners, who can supply skips or roll-off containers of up to 40 m³. For small quantities we are happy to suggest other ways of getting the material to us – just ask.
Yes, through our purchase by post – from Germany and the EU. You fill in the consignment note, enclose a copy of your ID and send in the sorted material at your own expense. After weighing, sorting and, where applicable, analysis, you receive a pro forma credit note by e-mail; once you confirm, we transfer the money.
We are certified under ElektroG and accept waste electrical equipment. Our electronic scrap price list applies to purchases; not every fraction is paid for, and some items we accept for disposal. If you are unsure, just ask beforehand.
Take a photo and send it to us, or simply bring the item along. We will tell you which grade it falls into and what it is worth – even if the answer is sometimes that the journey is not worth it.
Call us or write to us – we answer unusual cases too.
